Common Looper Moth

There's nothing common about this moth's appearance - check out those fancy scales! This one was resting on a screen door.

What is common about them is their diet: dandelions, hollyhocks, verbena, plantain and sunflowers found here, and many other plants such as beans that can be found in the neighbors' vegetable gardens.
