Chickweed Geometer

Here's another inchworm moth sporting more than the usual amount of color. We found this one at night, hanging under the eaves, so its yellow and magenta coloring is not as bright in this photo as it appears in the daytime.

This species feeds on weeds. Chickweed, clover, knotweed, smartweed. As one might expect from its easy-to-find diet, it's abundant throughout its range.
