Common Angle Moth


Here are several angles on a pretty little moth we first found sitting on the barbecue grill cover.

The dark notches on the forewings are not scorch marks, but rather part of the angle's natural wing design.

Although we watched for some time, we couldn't get a photo of the wings fully spread; the moth preferred to hold them poised to fly.

Host plants are maple and locust trees.
