The Bee Moth

Bee moths are sometimes also known as wax moths, or wax millers, so named because their caterpillars infest the wax combs of beehives. They can be useful in helping to recycle old abandoned combs naturally, but are also considered a pest by beekeepers.

Various sorts of bees, wasps and hornets have built nests here over the years, so the bee moths probably have little trouble finding suitable larval food here.
