Orange-spotted Pyrausta

This brightly-colored little moth really attracts the eye. I don't know how this one managed to avoid being devoured by the birds, it was a very slow flyer.

Covell doesn't have a reference picture, but Holland shows it with mostly brown tones. But then again, my copy of Holland is over 100 years old.
