"Sooty-Winged" Chalcoela Moth

Bob Patterson's invented common name for this species sure suits it - the first time we looked at this photo, we thought the moth had been damaged by a flame or hot light bulb.

Since we've discovered several more of these moths and they all look just like this, that's just the way they are.

Don't know what their favorite foods are, it's not listed in Covell.
