Ursula Wainscot Moth

Its very tufty foretibia are reportedly what distinguish this moth species from its close relative the Unarmed Wainscot. The Covell field guide does not have a photo of this species, so we're taking our best guess, and it seems to closely match one of the photos shown online in BugGuide.

Covell indicates that Ursula moths have been raised on honeysuckle. We have lots of honeysuckle all over our fences. BugGuide also adds crabgrass to the food plant list. Alas, we have that too.
